Better Late than Never

Blowing bubbles
Dear Tessa,

Last week was your 21 month "birthday".  I need to apologize for being about a week late on your monthly letter; school started this week and things have been crazy.  This past month has been full of activity.  We started going to the Little Gym on Tuesday nights and have gone swimming a few more times.  We also went to the Miller Park Zoo with GiGi.

The big thing that has been going on this month is that you being more and more imaginative.  You love to play kitchen and play with your babies.  You are often reading books to yourself, and you have even recently started telling these elaborate stories.  Your favorite is about a sleeping monkey.  You often hush us for talking too loudly because the monkey is sleeping.  Also, the last three days you have peed in the potty - twice before bath time and once at daycare.  You have also started to pray with us.  You bow your head at dinner when we pray, and you even say "Amen!"  We are so proud of you!

Playing in the backyard pool.
You continue to be a very good eater.  You LOVE watermelon and most other fruits.  Your favorite place to be is outside - running around, playing in the sand/water table, or going on bike rides.  You are really into Sesame Street and Barney.  Your favorite characters are Elmo, Ernie, Snuffy, and Baby Bob. You still love music and dancing, and I can't wait to take you to see Yo Gabba Gabba with Daddy next month.

Showing the lifeguard your wink.
You are growing leaps and bounds.  We just went to the doctor last week because you were having allergy issues, and you weighed in at 28 pounds.  You can still fit into some 18 month shorts, but you are longer on the top so you are wearing 24 months - 2T shirts.  Your feet have grown a lot too.  You can comfortably wear a size 5 shoe.

You continue to show how smart you are by your increasing vocabulary and great memory.  We are constantly trying to come up with new and interesting activities to keep you on your toes and learning.  Please know that we love you very much and are blessed to call you our daughter.

All my love,

Mommy
