| Get off the road |
Both Broch and I had Good Friday off, so we headed up to Ottawa early. We alternate which family we spend Easter and Thanksgiving with between Ottawa and Bloomington. Since we were in Bloomington for Thanksgiving, we were spending Easter in Ottawa. We spent Friday afternoon with my sisters, their families, and my mom. Broch and I even got to get away for a few hours and see a movie. While we were gone, Tessa had a blast.

On Saturday, we went to Granville to drop off a few decorative items at Alayna's gravesite. Tessa has been here with us a few times, but I will always remember this time because this is the first time that Tessa kissed and hugged Alayna's picture on the tombstone. It brought tears to my eyes.

After we were finished at the cemetery, we headed to the nearby park for an Easter egg hunt. They split them up by age group, so Tessa and her cousins, Braylin and Kaedin, we all in the same group. Each kid was allowed to get 20 eggs. Tessa loved finding the eggs, but not as much as she enjoyed opening them up to see what goodies were inside. This is the first time Tessa has ever really had candy, so she thought it was pretty cool. She is only allowed one piece of candy a day at the most, but still she thought it was pretty neat.

Sunday morning we all went to church together at my hometown church, St. Mary's. Tessa is used to being in the nursery during church, so we did have to step out once - when she was singing "Happy Birthday" during the readings. :) Once we left and she was able to play a bit, she was ready to head back in and did pretty well. After our family brunch, the kids hunted more eggs. Then, we headed to Bloomington to stop and see GiGi for a bit on our way back home.
Overall, I think Tessa had a fantastic Easter weekend. It was a beautiful weekend to be with family!
