Dear Tessa,
I have been a TOTAL slacker at writing monthly updates, so the goal has now become to write 3 month update letters. Hopefully, I can keep up with these these.
These last three months have been all about your personality shining through. You are such a jokester - even at this young age. You have been going through a huge growth spurt. So, we are now wearing 2T pants and 3T shirts. The problem with the 2T shirts is that they aren't long enough to cover you belly. Because of this, we have had to part with some of your favorite shirts - including your three Gabba shirts. You know that these shirts no longer fit and have been packed away. Still everyday when we are picking out your clothes you always say you want to wear Brobee, Foofa, or Gabba concert shirt. You say this with a smirk on your face because you are joking. You have always been a tease, but it is becoming more and more evident everyday.
Tattling has become a new hobby of yours. Before Christmas you and Daddy were coloring a picture of a snowman. You still to this day will say, "Daddy color my snowman," even though you were both working on it together. You don't only tattle on Daddy and myself, but you are really good at tattling on yourself as well. I can always count on you telling on yourself about getting time outs at daycare or getting in trouble at home.
We have started leaving you more and more with babysitters. I think that if we had to do it over again, we would leave you with a babysitter earlier in you life, but we didn't since we don't live near any family and we have always been overprotective. You have stayed with my friend, Aimee, a former student of mine, Ashley, and Julie and Craig Kietzman. You love spending time with Cora, so you really enjoyed going over to the Kietzman's apartment. You talk about Cora all the time. She is your best friend besides your cousins. It is so funny to see you too at Little Gym together. You insist on waiting by the door for her so you can give her hugs right when you see her. It is too cute!
You are still a huge Barney fan although you are branding out a little bit and watching Strawberry Shortcake every once in a while. You love to help me cook and bake. You are really good at helping with the mixing part. You still like riding the carousel at the mall, but you have started to want to do it all by your own. I still ride with you, but you no longer let me hold on to your back or even touch the horse. You are so independent! We have played at the mall playground a few times this winter. You love it, but it makes us very nervous. There are always older kids who shouldn't be playing in there running, jumping, and climbing with no regard for you or any of the other younger kids. It makes me so nervous to see you playing there, but you LOVE it.
One trait you get from your father is your incredibly large heart. You hate seeing anyone upset or crying. If someone is crying in your presence, you are likely to run over to them and give them a big hug. I am so proud of you all the time, but to see you exhibit such compassion makes me so proud to call you my daughter.
This summer holds big things for us. We are going to go camping for the first time this summer. We are also planning on returning to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis as well as in Normal. We will also visit a few zoos this summer. We may even spend a weekend in Chicago to take in Shedd Aquarium. I'm so excited to share these experiences with you!
