As usual, December is one of our busiest months. The month started off with a visit from our elf, Peppermint. This year she was a bit more creative and toliet papered our Christmas tree and had a snow ball fight with a stuffed penguin. Tessa loved it! She also got her letter from Santa (aka my friend, Dayle). Tessa loved the fact that she was on the Nice List and even received an advent list with an activity to do each day in November.

We started off December with some pretty decent snowfall. Last year was the first time that we had enough snow for Tessa to play in. Needless to say, she LOVES playing in the snow. Her favorite thing to do is make snow angels and have a snow ball fight. She also likes to help us clean off the deck by shoveling. She has a bit of my OCD tendencies. :)

| Tessa is ready to go to Chicago. |
One of the things we did this winter was take Tessa to Chicago for the night to see the lights and go to Navy Pier for the
Winter Wonderfest. She loved it! There were blow-up slides and obstacle courses as well as a carousel, ferris wheel, hot cocoa cup ride among many other things. Tessa loved all of it. That night we went to the Disney Story, Cheesecake Factory, and looked at the lights. To be honest, it was a little disappointing compared to what I remember the lights in Chicago being when I was younger.

This holiday season, we celebrated Christmas with the Kaedings (my grandparents), and the Gerlings the weekend before Christmas. Tess was so excited for Christmas. The one thing she really wanted was a rollerskating Dora and Boots set. She also wanted a telescope and some games. Really, she would have been happy with anything. She just loves getting and giving gifts. The only bad thing about her giving gifts is that she can't keep a secret to save her life (I wonder where she gets this from.). Even without prompting, she told more than one person what their Christmas present was. At the farm, Tessa received a Sofia dress-up dress, a scooter, puzzles, and a few games. She was super excited! That night we went by Aunt Chrissy and Uncle Allen's house for a visit. We hadn't seen them since early fall. It was nice to catch up with them. We spent the night at Gigi's with hopes of going to Lincoln to have Christmas with Grandmother and Gigi. Unfortunately, the weather prevented that. So, we opened gifts with Gigi and are planning on heading down to Lincoln in the near future to visit with Grandmother.

| Christmas Eve |
Christmas Eve we went to mass with mom and dad and the Bond family. It was nice to go to church on Christmas Eve and get home at a decent time. Tessa was soooo nervous that night about seeing Santa in the middle of the night if she had to get up and go potty. She was also really worried that she may hear Santa, "Ho, Ho, Ho!" Needless to say, she did not visit Santa this year. She is still scared of him. So, we did write a letter to the newspaper and made a phone call and left him a message. Hopefully, next year she will be more open to talking to Santa...fingers crossed!

Christmas morning, Tessa was even a little nervous about getting out of bed for fear that Santa was still hear. Once we convinced her it was all good - she went crazy looking at all the gifts. She received several little things like undies, socks, chapstick, body spray (yes, she is a girlie girl), and a few bigger items. She got a LeapPad 2 as well as a Baby Alive doll that eats and potties. She also got an Ariel doll that sings and goes in the bath. She was really hoping for that one, so she was pretty happy!
